A few notes before you go: Water levels vary by season and weather. Photo: Jeff Rose This pool is upstream at Steel Creek Campground. It takes effort to get there, but it’s worth it. From Ponca, take Highway 43 south and turn left onto Highway 74. Follow Highway 74 until you see signs for Steel Creek National Park. Turn left onto the paved driveway. At the bottom of the hill, turn right towards the boat ramp and park. Cross the river on the Old River Path (signposted) and follow the rock downstream until you see a large boulder that has washed out a deep pool of water.
