Anyone traveling to Napa Valley is sure to be seduced by the charm of the St. Helena, Yountville, and Healdsburg, a few heads north to the sleepy little town of Calistoga. Once a town full of farmland, Calistoga has become a real hot spot for environmental restoration and activities, thanks to the spas and mud baths here.

Downtown Lodi also has several pet-friendly tasting rooms and many of their restaurants are dog-friendly with indoor enclosures, all within walking distance of the lovely pet-friendly home where we stayed.

Santa Cruz is a mix of hippie yoga meets California beach town, but there’s more to this place than meets the eye. Many people in the Bay Area either walk to busy Santa Cruz (no dogs allowed, it’s very noisy) or stay in noisy, expensive hotels on the beach. However, the city has a different side and is dog friendly and quiet.
