Our nearest beach, Portreath, welcomes dogs anytime from 10am to 6pm from 1st September to 30th June and 1st July to 31st August. You will find car parks, cafes and other small places isolated by the tide.

The place is a favorite for dog lovers as it is bordered by forest on one side and lush greenery on the other, allowing their owners to enjoy spectacular sea views and plenty of space for dogs to roam around. The beach at Alberry Cove is quite steep and the water comes in very quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on your furry friends here.

St. Mary’s Bay: On the other side of Brixham, you’ll find St. Mary’s Bay – a long sandy beach surrounded by attractive rocks and cliffs. A year-round dog lover’s favourite, this beach can be accessed via the south-west coast from Berry Head or Shakham Point. However, the place is not impressive as it is at the bottom of a flight of stairs and is accessible by a narrow footpath.

Anstey’s Cove: Off the beaten track in Torquay, you’ll find a peaceful and beautiful beach called Anstey’s Cove. Accessible via the south-west coast, and down a cliff, Anstey’s Cove is dog-friendly all year round. This delightful beach is surrounded by thick forest, providing a perfect place for you and your pets to roam.

Babbacombe Beach: Accessed by climbing a steep hill through woodland, you’ll find Babbacombe Beach near the Cary Arms boutique hotel. This sandy, sandy beach is surrounded by densely forested rocks. Parking next to the beach makes it a great spot for dog walkers – beware, the one lane road to the car park is very steep and has many switchbacks so may not be for the faint hearted!
