Burlington, Vermont is one of the most dog friendly places in New England. Boasting incredible adventures and a charming downtown, Burlington is as much a place to play for dogs as it is for companions. You will find many fun things to do with your pup. Bike the Burlington Greenway along the shores of Lake Champlain before stopping to sample local beer at one of the city’s many dog-friendly breweries. Burlington breweries that are kid-friendly on the patio include Foam Brewery and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery, while places like Switchback Brewing Co. also allow pet dogs. Church Street Marketplace, one of New England’s most popular (and dog-friendly) pedestrian malls, has a variety of dog-friendly restaurants and shops. The Vermont Inn A quaint bed and breakfast within walking distance of the city, the Vermont Inn offers hospitality and the comforts of a home away from home for you and your dog.
When it’s dog summer, there’s no better place to be with your dog than Cape Cod! With miles of scenic coastline, irresistible charm, and countless outdoor activities, Cape Cod is the perfect summer destination for people and dogs. You will enjoy Cape Cod National Seashore the most. This sandy beach and sun-dried trails make it dog-friendly even in hot weather. Then quench your thirst at Provincetown Brewing Company. They are so friendly (socially aware) dogs that there is a local dog in the beer garden who says “racists bite me”. There are many places on the Cape where you can live with your pets. Pet your dog at the luxurious Chatham Bars Inn or “dig” with your dog at Nickerson State Park Campground.
Cape Cod National Seashore is one of the many reasons to visit Cape Cod with your dog.
If you want a beach vacation with your dog, check out Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Just five miles south of Portland, it’s a great place to get away from it all without going too far. Just south of Fort Williams State Park, home to the iconic Portland Lighthouse, is a large grassy area where dogs can run and play. Of course, you can’t visit Maine without local lobster, and the Bite in Maine truck has picnic tables for outdoor entertaining in the park. Higgins Beach is a popular place for puppies to run wild on the sand and splash in the water. After a long day of fun in the sun, relax at the Inn by the Sea, a nice beach retreat that offers the ultimate in comfort and hospitality.

This dog-friendly town in Vermont is a must-see in the Northeast Kingdom. Known as the Ski Capital of the East, Stowe draws visitors from near and far to its world-class resorts every winter. But with plenty of outdoor activities all season, Stowe is a great place to relax with your dog.
With great character, Smuggler’s Notch State Park offers miles of hiking trails through a beautiful section of the Green Mountains.
