High season (April 1 to September 30): Pets must be off the street between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 p.m. In some cases, pets can become a nuisance unless properly controlled on the beach.

High season (1 October – 31 March): Pets are always welcome on the beach, provided they are properly confined.

If you decide to visit the nearby beautiful and famous city of Charleston, you and your child can stop and relax at James Island County Park. Kiawah Beach Park is another fun place for pets to enjoy. Walk your dog through Charleston’s beautiful landscape, home to 30 species of reptiles and 80 species of amazing birds.
