Pet Friendly Lodging Zion National Park – Dog Friendly Accommodation, Dog Friendly Rentals, Dog Friendly Travelers, Dog Friendly Hotel
We are always hesitant to travel through the Zion National Park area when traveling to Utah because, like most national parks, Zion is not exactly “dog friendly.” On our last trip we decided to give it a try and stayed at the pet friendly Zion White Bison. We are just one kilometer from the west entrance of the park and used it as a base camp to drive through the park and explore all the dog friendly spots on both sides of the entrance. All I can say is that I’m glad we finally decided to go, and while there weren’t many dog-friendly activities in the park, there are PLENTY outside.
Pet Friendly Lodging Zion National Park
We stayed at Zion White Bison’s pet friendly Cliff Dwelling and loved it. Our dog-friendly Cliff Dwelling, modeled after ancient Anasazi stones, had the most inviting and colorful interior design and featured a king-size bed, a living room with a sofa and TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and an open patio. Dining table and fire pit, grill and our OWN PRIVATE cooking barrel with views of the beautiful mesas and canyons around us!
Visiting Zion National Park With Pets
Zion White Bison was rated one of the top five resorts in America with pet friendly wagons, teepees and cliff dwellings and I can’t wait to plan a return trip! While there aren’t many pet-friendly trails in Zion National Park itself, it’s great to just drive through the park and there are SO MANY dog-friendly adventures on both sides of the park.
Snow Canyon State Park – (Note that the park requires an entrance fee for most trails.) We loved the red rock formations in this park and had the best time exploring the countless trails, caves, petrified sand dunes, petroglyphs, and miniature slots. explore canyon.
Pink Coral Sand Dunes State Park – (Entry fee required) These dunes are estimated to be 10,000 to 15,000 years old and you can rent ATVs or sand boards here to ride the dunes, but we just loved walking around and playing in the sand!
Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness/Kanab Area – This 112,500-acre wilderness area is full of hiking trails, slot canyons, rock formations and painted hills, and the opportunities for dog-friendly adventures are endless! It was a bit wet and the roads were a bit washed out and the ravines were flooded, so we had to make some last minute changes to our plans – but there is a lack of things to do here!

After a day of exploring, we returned to our cliffside abode and watched the sunset from the rooftop hot tub. The Zion White Bison property is full of character and even has its own herd of white bison (a calf was born two days after we left) that you can visit. The white bison is an extremely rare and sacred animal, and just a generation ago one in ten million bison was born white. It is currently estimated that one in a million is white. The purpose of the resort is to be a sanctuary for these sacred animals and it was so nice to spend time with them!

Of the more than 90 million households in the United States, 78 percent travel with their pets. Your pet is a member of your family. So it makes sense that you want to share your adventures with them.
However, traveling with a pet such as a dog presents some additional challenges. A major challenge is finding pet-friendly accommodation. You also need to find activities that your whole family, including furry members, can enjoy together. This means you should avoid museums, indoor restaurants, theme parks and more, as they often don’t allow pets.
Visiting a national park seems like an obvious option for a pet-friendly trip. But in national parks, dogs are allowed in far fewer places than you might think. If you plan to bring your pet to Zion Wildflower Resort, read on. We’ve put together the ultimate dog parent’s guide to visiting Zion.
Each national park has its own rules about where pets are allowed and where they are not. Understanding these rules can help you avoid problems and even possible fines.
What To Do In Zion National Park With Kids — Big Brave Nomad
If you plan to stay at Zion Wildflower Resort, you may want to ask if dogs are allowed in Zion National Park. The answer is yes, but there are strict rules you must follow.
Pets are not allowed on Zion National Park trails, wilderness areas or public buildings. The only exception is the Pa’rus Trail, where pets are allowed. If you are visiting Zion and plan to do other hikes like the Pa’rus Trail during your visit, plan to bring your pet along for at least part of the trip.
In the park you can walk your dog along the driveway. However, they are not allowed to ride on any bus. So if you want to visit the park with your pet during your stay at Zion National Park Resorts and run the shuttles, you have to park at the park entrance or in Springdale and walk into the park.
Each national park has its own rules about where pets are allowed and where they are not. However, most parks have similar rules that pets and their owners must follow. Most of these are common sense rules that you as a responsible dog owner already know.

For example, you are always responsible for bagging your pet’s feces and transporting them to a litter box, even if you are hiking in the desert. Pets must also be kept on a leash – usually a 6-foot leash or shorter. Your pet should never be allowed to harass animals.
An exception to this rule are service animals. Trained service animals are allowed on all routes as well as in buildings and buses. Emotional support or comfort animals are not considered service animals. Therefore, the same rules must apply to them as to pets.
Checking the rules of each national park you plan to visit in advance will help you plan your trip better and avoid disappointment. Think of the shock
