Best Dog Friendly Vacations – There’s something about January that makes me sit down with my calendar and make a comprehensive travel plan for the coming year. It’s so cold and dark outside that it’s incredibly nice to curl up with your laptop and plan an adventure.

Although we’ve put our major international travel on hold during the pandemic, we love the Seattle area and all of its wonderful (and dog-friendly!) weekends. After ten years in New York and Chicago, it’s been fun to come back and rediscover old vacation favorites, as well as see all the new creative attractions, boutique hotels, and unique Airbnbs. Most importantly, I love seeing how many of them offer dog friendly options during your stay. I’m so glad we were able to take Dave and Lizzie on vacation with us.

Orlando Is No.1 In Country For Best Dog Friendly Vacation Spot

I am trying to plan a trip to this beautiful lodge and event venue that has many “dog friendly” kennels. How amazing does this picture look? Plus we love the beautiful hike and views from San Juan Island. Details of the dogs are listed under each cabin description here.

Bring your best friend to some of the wine country charm at one of our area’s private luxury resorts. We have been doing weekend breaks at Sedgecliffe since 2015 and honestly it never disappoints. Hiking, wine tasting, and stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge make this an absolutely dreamy getaway. About their dog policy here.

The Captain Whidbey is at the top of my travel bucket list for 2022. Recently featured in publications such as Vogue, this beautifully restored historic hotel is featured on my Instagram feed and I’m dying to take a trip. Click on the reservation system to see which rooms (like the Filson Cabin!) are marked as pet friendly.

Walla Walla is one of the best wine regions in the country with over 120 wineries, so I honestly can’t think of a better place to spend a few days. This modern hotel in the center of the city has been on the bookmarks for a while, as it looks like the perfect base camp for a weekend in the snow or a weekend with wine. Oh, both! We’ve blogged about how much we love Getaway Tiny Houses before, and we’ll take a look at the new Skagit Valley location. They are the perfect way to escape to nature while staying warm and dry. And how amazing is this particular bed window? Dogs are allowed for a fee – more information here.

Honestly, the Coho Coast stole my heart with these coastal fire pits. Although it’s a short drive from Seattle, this Oregon Coast cabin is worth the trip for its beautifully modern interior and views of the Pacific Ocean. Dogs up to 25 pounds are welcome in select rooms. More details here.

It is my New Year’s resolution to settle into my dream cottage in St. Petersburg as soon as possible. It should be easy in Edwards as it’s only a half hour drive from the city. This historic seminary retreat is a luxurious and elegant retreat on 326 acres of trails on Lake Washington. We had a great weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – and you blogged about it here – and the memories helped me get through the first few months of lockdown. These designer 570-square-foot units offer amenities such as private balconies, fireplaces, and soaking tubs. Plus, they’re the perfect base camp for exploring Vashon Island’s beautiful beaches and hiking trails. Best Places To Travel With Your Pet

I’ve long dreamed of being one of those Insta-famous A-shots and I’m determined to make it happen this year. Tye River Cabin Co. On Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest offers three different stunning A-frame cabins located in the heart of the National Forest, and all three accept pets for a fee. But word to the wise, booking can be difficult as every amazing post on Insta gets thousands of likes. Pet information is listed under each stateroom’s details.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Semiamo in 2019 and look forward to returning to the sights and secluded beaches that Lizzie loves to explore. A stone’s throw from the Canadian border, this quiet resort is the perfect base camp for great Northern Washington hikes and breathtaking coastal views. They are very dog ​​friendly and the pups get their own bowls, bed and (at least during our visit) some souvenirs. More information about the dog here.

Travel back in time with a stay in one of these vintage trailers in Dayton, Oregon. The best part? They are located in the Willamette wine region. Coffee trailers offer free-flowing coffee, luxurious linens and luxury bathrooms. Puppies are allowed in Shasta trailers, details here.

Anacortes is one of my favorite trips from the city. Drive an hour and a half north of Seattle to this beautiful downtown beach town full of cute shops, delicious cafes, and waterfront views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite Washington bookstores!) And we love the very popular downtown hotel, The Majestic, with its cozy guest rooms and amazing rooftop bar. The Perfect Dog Friendly Santa Cruz Guide For Your Pup!

I love a unique escape and Winthrop’s Rolling Hotties certainly delivers. These tiny houses were designed by Seattle-based Olsen Kundig Architects as a modern alternative to camping. Hike or just relax and enjoy these amazing mountain views. Their Hotels.com listing has a pet policy listed in the “Fees and Policies” section.

This luxury resort on Hood Canal boasts that they’ve been welcoming kids since 1913 and, we think, a full list of Fido amenities. Be sure to rent a kayak, hike the trails, or just enjoy these views. Read about dog diets here.

Okay, so this one isn’t technically available yet, but this is the second time we’ve signed up for alerts to reserve these adorable RVs in Olympic National Park. They offer creature comforts beyond standard camping while providing a neutral and sustainable way to get out into nature. At this historic resort on Orcas Island, I enjoyed the gorgeous new Water’s Edge Suites, which offer private balconies overlooking the bay. I can already see myself packing a book there. If you follow us on Instagram, you know we’re quick to head to Seabrook at every opportunity. Located on Washington’s stunning Pacific coast, this quaint beach town is everything you could wish for on vacation, with quaint shops and restaurants, plenty of rental options, and a pristine sandy beach. Puppies are welcome in many rental companies.

With beautiful views of Lake Washington, Woodmark offers a wonderful escape just a quick drive from downtown Seattle. Explore downtown Kirkland’s shops and restaurants, hit the water, or relax at the spa. Woof, Wag and Worry Less Package Reserve a bowl, bed and special treats for your toy. If you haven’t heard of Tentrra, you’re missing out. We stayed with them twice (in Vermont and on our trip to Maine which we blogged about here) and each trip was amazing. Basically, they built luxury safari tents on unique private properties like this beautiful orchard near Meade, Washington. You can choose to pay extra to have some of their fruit delivered to your site, or some farm fresh eggs for a delicious Al Franco’s Crepe. More about Tentrr’s baby policy here.

Granted, Idaho is a short distance from Seattle, but we could drive any distance to stay in this expansive view. Plus, the little touches like the on-site sauna and the antique coffee grinder melted my heart. Pets are allowed, although you may have to judge by the stairwell entrance whether this is a fun holiday for you.
